Molecular Libraries Program
Overview
The Molecular Libraries Program (MLP) is an NIH Common Fund Initiative. Through one of the MLP components, the Molecular Libraries Probe Production Centers Network (MLPCN), biomedical researchers gain access to the large-scale small molecule screening capacity, along with medicinal chemistry and informatics necessary to identify chemical probes to study the functions of genes, cells, and biochemical pathways. These chemical probes may also be used in developing of new drugs.
The NCTT is one of the Comprehensive Centers (NCGC) funded by the MLP.
The activities of the MLP in NCTT are conducted in the Probe Development Branch. The scientists in this branch conduct research in high-throughput assay development and screening, informatics and modeling, and analytical and medicinal chemistry. All projects conducted in the MLPCN program at NCTT are highly collaborative and interactive.
